The Central Virginia Master Naturalists have partnered with the Lynchburg Parks and Recreation Department to help repair some of the trail damage that resulted from several storms in 2018. Our trail is part of the Blackwater Creek trail system and encompasses the entirety of the gravel road on the south side of Blackwater Creek from the upstream suspension bridge all the way down to the train trestle which crosses the trail near Hollins Mill Park. Volunteers can help maintain this section of trail by picking up trash and clearing debris as well as by monitoring the area for more serious issues which we will coordinate with Parks & Rec to rectify.
Members please use “S – Friends of Blackwater Creek trails help” when logging your hours in the Volunteer Management System (VMS).
